Business
Closing companies, sunsetting products, founder exits and restructuring.
An equinox gathering · Helsinki
September 2027 · March 2028
For things to start, others have to end.
Why this exists
Nobody talks about endings.
Launches, growth and scale get all the stages. Yet every company, product, career and system also ends, and how that ending is handled decides what comes next. FALL / SPRING gives both halves of the cycle a stage: one gathering on the autumn equinox, as the light fades, and one on the spring equinox, as it returns.
Who it's for
Going through it
Founders closing or selling a company. Leaders restructuring a team. Anyone whose job, product or plan is ending.
Been through it
People who lost something, failed at something or let something go, and kept moving. They bring the stories.
Helping others through it
People leaders, HR, coaches, advisors and cities who help others end things well and start again.
What you leave with
Stories from people who ended something, lost something or failed at something, and kept going. A reminder that for things to start, others have to end.
How to close a project, a product or a company well. How to lead people through change, and how to have the hard conversations.
A room of people who are going through it, have been through it, or help others through it. Some of them will matter to you for years.
Autumn equinox · September 2027 · Helsinki
An event about endings.
FALL · Endings
A day for everyone who has closed something, is closing something, or will have to. Honest stories, practical know-how and the rituals business forgot. Tone is the whole job: jokes about dead products one hour, real loss the next.
Closing companies, sunsetting products, founder exits and restructuring.
Quitting, layoffs, retirement and starting over.
Decommissioned plants, legacy tech and fossil infrastructure.
Death, digital legacy and grief, handled with care.
On the programme
The evening drink becomes a wake. Raise a glass to what is gone.
Founders bury the products that didn't make it, properly, with eulogies.
What an ending felt like, told by the people who lived it.
Spring equinox · March 2028 · Helsinki
An event about regeneration.
SPRING · Regeneration
Six months after FALL the light comes back, and so do we. SPRING is about the moment something new still fits in your hand: the first hire, the first prototype, the first day back. Oaks drop their acorns in autumn and they sprout in spring, and nothing about an acorn looks like an oak. A day for people starting again, and the stubborn faith it takes.
First customers, first hires, first days back.
Careers and companies started again, bigger than before.
Things built to outlast a funding round.
What old material becomes next.
On the programme
Every guest plants an oak sapling in a Helsinki park. At the next SPRING it is still growing, and so are we.
Stories told from inside a beginning, before anyone knows how it ends.
We open where FALL closed, and turn the lights on.
Why the equinox, why Helsinki
At FALL the dark gains speed. At SPRING the light races back, with new energy and drive.
When cable production ended in 1990, parts of it were due for demolition. Artists moved in, organised and saved it. Now one of Finland's biggest cultural centres, and our first-choice venue.
Hanasaari, Helsinki's coal plant, was switched off in 2023 after almost 50 years. Now open for new uses, and a venue option for FALL.
A 21-year-old in Helsinki announced a free operating system: "just a hobby, won't be big". It became Linux.
A nuclear waste vault built to last 100,000 years. The ultimate ending, engineered.
Heat, then the cold plunge. Every Finn knows the ritual of letting go and starting fresh.
The Full Circle pass
For partners
Every organisation ends things: products, plants, teams, careers. Few are known for doing it well. A FALL / SPRING partnership puts your name on both halves of the cycle, in front of the people who are living it.
Who partners with us
Organisations that have closed a plant, sold a business or reshaped a workforce, and want to be known for doing it decently.
Reuse, repair, recycling and second life. Businesses whose whole model is what comes after an ending.
Cities, agencies and foundations working on how places, industries and people renew themselves.
A room of experienced people deciding what comes next is the best hiring pool there is.
The sauna, the wake's toast, the last and first suppers: small partnerships people remember.
What partners get
Reputation
Be seen as the organisation that handles endings and new starts well, inside and outside your walls.
Access
Time with leaders, founders and professionals at the moment they decide what comes next.
Story
A presence from autumn to spring, with stories, content and moments that carry across both events.
Ways to partner
Both events
One annual package across FALL and SPRING, with your name on the whole cycle.
One event
Own your side of the year: endings in autumn or regeneration in spring.
One moment
Host a single moment: the wake, the thaw, the sauna or the pass itself.
Partner spaces
No stands. Every partner space is an experience: five minutes, something to leave behind or take home, hosted rather than pitched.
Everything that ends at FALL begins again at SPRING, including the materials. Nothing goes to landfill: we build from reused material, carry what we can over to SPRING, and recycle the rest.
Founding partners shape the first edition.
